Need help identifying the bug you found? Check out Matt Bertone’s “Guide to Common Insects and Other Arthropods Found in and Around North Carolina Homes” for free!
Remember that you can still submit observations to the project even if you aren’t sure exactly what you found because iNaturalist is a community platform that crowd-sources its identifications from all over the world. Even if your proposed ID is just “insect” or “spider,” the other wildlife experts on iNaturalist will be able to help narrow down your ID for you.
If you’re having trouble photographing your finds, you might also want to check out Matt Bertone’s “Tips for using phones for insect photos.”
